The New Orleans Saints reached into their own state for an undrafted free agent running back. Jacob Kibodi is headed to the Saints, and he won't have to go far. He finished his college career as a Louisiana Ragin' Cajun.
In 2023, Kibodi ran for 729 yards and seven touchdowns to complete his college career.
Jacob Kibodi says the Saints talked about his versatility when they met with him at his Pro Day. Says that he brings maturity, is a hard worker and is eager to learn. Called himself a football junkie and grew up a Saints fan. "They're going to get 100% out of me."

Kibodi also noted that he is a football "junkie" in terms of how much he watches and prepares for it.
"It might be unhealthy, man." -- Kibodi

Ross Jackson had a great interview with Kibodi, too. Check it out below.
You can watch Jacob Kibodi's interview (and here me kind of string questions together like a dope) on @SecondAndSaints:https://t.co/ZNjhDspJVH

Kibodi will have plenty of competition at RB for the Saints. He may simply be a practice squad running back to start his pro career, but he could eventually play a role for New Orleans' offense down the road.
The RB started his college career at Texas A&M. He actually played with Saints' recently signed QB Kellen Mond during his college days as an Aggie.
Kibodi had a heartfelt interview with The Kneaux as well. He described his time at UL and how it felt to get picked by the Saints.
My time at UL was amazing, looking back at everything that I overcame I'm able to see how God was using that situation to make me better. It was a humbling experience going from a guy who had 20+ offers out of high school to then taking out loans to pay my way through school. Walking on is definitely one of the hardest challenges I've faced. Anybody who walks on I have the upmost respect for because I know the struggle, there was plenty of nights I felt like my stomach was surviving off nothing but ramen noodles and to come out on the other side and earn a scholarship is definitely a blessing... Gettin' the call from the Saints was a dream come true! This is my favorite team. Reggie Bush is my favorite running back and being from Baton Rouge man, I was able to go to a couple games as a kid and that's still one of my favorite childhood memories. -- The Kneaux
All in all, you won't be able to doubt his effort to get reps for the Saints in the future. Kibodi is determined to make plays for New Orleans.
